Restylane® Defyne  is a soft-gel filler designed to give a lifted, youthful appearance. Restylane® Defyne is a solution for deep facial wrinkles and folds or to replace lost skin volume. This product is ideal for treating deep nasolabial folds. Optimal Balance Technology (OPT) allows the filler to integrate smoothly into the skin. Contains lidocaine, a powerful anaesthetic, for a more comfortable injection.Suitable for use as a dermal filler to correct deep wrinkles, folds, or other skin defects.

Restylane Defyne is an injectable, viscoelastic gel containing non-animal, cross-linked hyaluronic acid and Lidocaine, for pain relief. Restylane is suitable for use as a filler to correct deep wrinkles, folds, or other skin defects when injected into the deep dermis or upper subcutaneous layer. Results of a Restylane treatment usually last about 6 to 9 months, and sometimes as long as 12 months. Only authorized personnel, in accordance with local legislation, should administer Restylane.

What are the benefits of treatment?

Many fillers use non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid to adjust the thickness of their product, but it can degrade quickly without providing a filling effect. However, Restylane Defyne adjusts its formula without using free hyaluronic acid. The makers of Emervel use Optimal Balance Technology™ to adjust the level of cross-linking in their products, creating a softer or firmer gel for different applications. They also pass the Emervel gel through different sizes of mesh to sort out particle sizes, using the larger particles and firmer gel for deeper fillers like Restylane.

How does it work?

This Restylane formulation is made of hyaluronic acid derived from non-animal origin that has been stabilized by a proprietary process called Optimal Balance Technology (known as XpresHAn Technology™ in the U.S.). The resultant product is an injectable dermal implant that adds volume and definition to treated the face areas, lifting the skin to correct skin depressions and volume reduction.

What are the ingredients?

• Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid 20mg/milliliter
• Lidocaine Hydrochloride 3mg/milliliter
• Physiological Buffer pH 7 qs ad 1 milliliter

How to inject/administer this product:

Before proceeding with treatment, inform your client of the expected outcomes, precautions, warnings, and possible side effects that may occur. You should also take down the client’s medical history. Plan out and mark the sites of injection. Prior to injection, disinfect the site to be treated with a suitable antiseptic. Attach the supplied needle to the injection syringe securely, following the full instructions on the leaflet. Inject the gel slowly with even pressure. Follow standard practices and guidelines (e.g. aseptic technique) to mitigate the possibility of cross-infection.
